Recommended Usage Rate: 2-3% in formulations, depending on local regulations.

Formulation Guide: -Maximum Allowable Concentration: EU: Maximum of 5% in cosmetic products, US (FDA): Maximum of 3% in sunscreen products, Japan: Allowed up to 10% in sunscreen formulations.
-Note on Combination with Other Filters: Avobenzone is often combined with other UV filters to stabilize its efficacy and enhance broad-spectrum protection. Without stabilizers like octocrylene or Tinosorb S, avobenzone can degrade in sunlight, reducing effectiveness.
-Processing Temperature: It’s best to keep the temperature below 85°C when incorporating avobenzone to prevent degradation.
-Stability Considerations: Avobenzone is photosensitive and can degrade when exposed to sunlight. To improve stability, pair it with photostabilizers like octocrylene, bemotrizinol (Tinosorb S), or ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate. Formulations should be kept in UV-protective packaging when possible to limit exposure. Stable in formulations with a pH of 6-8. Higher or lower pH levels can destabilize avobenzone.
-Avoid using with mineral filters like zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, as these can destabilize avobenzone unless specially formulated for compatibility.
