Cinnamon Essential Oil is extracted from the bark of the tree Cinnamomum Zeylanicum, through the steam distillation method. It is also known as Ceylon Cinnamon and belongs to the plant family of Lauraceae. It is native to Sri Lanka and also cultivated in North America and West Indies. Cinnamon in ancient times, was considered more valuable than Gold. It held great importance both religiously and commercially. It is also used in India, as a major flavoring agent for curries, rice, bakery items, and more. Besides the pleasant and warm essence, it was also used to treat sore throat, cold and flu, and viral fevers.

Specifications:
-Botanical Name: Cinnamomum zeylanicum
-Plant Part: Bark
-Description / Color / Consistency: A clear, yellow to brownish liquid.
-Aromatic Summary / Note / Strength of Aroma: A middle note of strong aroma, it has a warm, spicy scent between that of clove and cinnamon, with sharper notes.

Recommended Usage Rate:
Formulation Guide: Essential oils are highly concentrated , the below usage rates are recommended:
-Gels, Toners, Astringents or high water based products: 0.5% for acne prone, sensitive and dry skin; 1% for oily and combination skin
-Creams, Oil Serum, Balms: 1% for dry, sensitive and acne prone skin; 2% for oily and combination skin
-Hair Oil - 5%
-Liquid Shampoo, Soaps, Facewash and Bodywash - 2- 3%
Shelf Life: 2 Years
Storage Guidelines: It is recommended that essential oils packaged in containers (for safe shipping) be transferred into dark glass containers to maintain freshness and attain maximum shelf life. Store in a cool & dry place. This product is extremely flammable. Keep away from fire and high temperatures.
Caution: This is a cosmetic-grade product. Not suitable for internal consumption. This product is not recommended for direct skin application. It needs to be added to base formulations/carrier oils in the prescribed percentage (as above). This product is not recommended for pregnant women and infants. Batch Production Testing and Patch skin Testing of the end products are recommended for all formulations before mass production/application/usage.
